Casciana
Terme is a charming little town in heart of Tuscany renowned
since antiquity for its 36°C hot spring waters. According to
legend the hot springs were discovered by the Countess Matilde
di Canossa during her stay in the area.
It was the year 1112... Matilde qwned an elderly, ailing
blackbird who wandered from the house each day and returned with
new life. Followed, the bird was seen bathing in a pool of hot
water hidden by a thicket of cane.The Countess thus realized
that the water contained curative properties. In 1311 the Spa
was built on the site of the cane thicket.
Today
the Spa offers a perfect balance between the best of the past
and modern technology.
It is equipped for a wide range of spa treatments with a modern
rehabilitation department and healt and beauty centre.
