Records of the Casciana baths date back to the early Middle Ages when
Matilde di Canossa chose Casciana as the privileged destination for her
country retreat in 1100. The sulphate-bicarbonate-calcic hot water
springs at Casciana gush forth at a temperature of 36° C.
Rich
in minerals and precious substances, the water is particularly
appropriate for the prevention and cure of many ailments including bad
blood circulation, rehabilitation and respiratory disorders.
The
Spa offers an ideal combination of classical spa treatments at the
Health and Beauty Centre which offers a variety of massages including
Shiatsu, mud masks and peeling for the face and body, sauna, solarium,
Turkish bath and gym for yoga and gentle gymnastics.
The
Baths of Casciana also provides two swimming pools with flowing water,
one an inside pool with chambers of varying temperatures and a 500 sq.
metre open air swimming pool with water games, water falls, hydromassage,
geysers and swimming against current.
The spa is open all year
round: the health and beauty centre and the baths are also open on
Sundays.
